The Workshops

The MagiKats Maths and English tuition programmes are totally flexible and individual, designed to fit in with both you and your child’s needs. Our students attend a weekly workshop at one of our MagiKats Tuition Centres, where they concentrate on studying Maths and English topics relevant to their current academic year, whether at pre-school, primary or secondary school and combine this with home study. Supported by professional and highly experienced tutors, our workshops use a multi-sensory approach, mixing conventional work with educational games and fun learning activities.

At Home

As well as attending one of our weekly workshops, students practise and extend their core skills at home, through a tuition programme carefully designed to meet their individual needs. (We don’t provide a "standard" core work programme, as each child is given work carefully selected just for them.) The programme is split into five short assignments, lasting between 5 -10 minutes per day and can be completed at a time that suits them. The work is marked and corrected at home (answer keys provided!), which helps by giving immediate support and feedback. In situations where completion of work at home is difficult, we work with each family to find a solution which works for them.

Workshop programmes to give your child extra support

At MagiKats we understand that a child’s school days can be much improved when they feel that they can cope better with the work that they face each day. As our programme spans across the school curriculum, from early years education through to GCSEs, children cover Maths and English topics appropriate for their academic year so they start to build confidence immediately. Between visits our carefully set work helps to consolidate core skills and fill in any gaps that might exist in their knowledge. By giving them the extra support they need now, your child will benefit from a growth in confidence through understanding and security in the knowledge that they don’t have to face difficult topics alone.

Workshop programmes to extend your child

Able students can find school tough too! They can often be bored and then find themselves in difficulty because they switched off at the wrong moment. Our workshops for children that need extending or more of a challenge can help students to reach their full potential, while still filling any knowledge gaps that might have crept in. Our programmes also help to increase their focus so they gain the maximum benefit from each topic as it comes along, at MagiKats and at school.

Workshop programmes for a specific boost

We also provide booster programmes for the times when your child may need some extra support. Our MagiKats revision programmes are design to prepare students specifically for these important events, whether it’s SATs, Common Entrance, GCSEs or other school exams. Along with practice on syllabus topics, the students go through both past and specimen papers helping them to gain confidence and enhance their skills. The MagiKats Summer Holiday Programme for students not able to attend workshops during term time gives a six-week boost at a time when most children's brains switch off. Fun learning material helps the student to progress, giving them a great boost for the start of the new academic year. Spaces on these programmes are strictly limited and priority is always given to our established students..
