MagiKats Maths and English Tuition Chilwell

Thank you for taking the time to look at the MagiKats programme. My Tuition Centres are comfortable, friendly and have a happy buzz all the time. Students love attending our classes. I always put my students first and my priority is supporting them in every way possible. I started working with MagiKats because I realised that the children in my community needed additional support and that the MagiKats programme was the best way in which I could provide it.

If you take a close look at the content of the National Curriculum for maths & English, you may begin to understand the difficult position teachers are in, both in primary and secondary schools. Teachers have to try and impart as best they can a huge quantity, as well as a wide diversity of topics, in a limited time. This is why the Magikats programme & tuition centres complement schools, working alongside them by providing the extra practice time to develop a child’s ability in these essential and key subjects.

We also recognise that every child needs a different approach and the small groups and individual study programmes provided at our MagiKats Tuition Centres, addresses that need. All of the mentors working with me have therefore been carefully selected to provide support across the full subject and age range. They are passionate about their work and most of them have been working at the centres from two to six years. As a result of our "friendly, happy buzz" and "passionate mentors", most of our students tend to remain with us long-term. You are welcome to pop in and visit our class to see what we do and also look at some of the materials that we use. This will also give you the opportunity to speak to other parents for their opinion.

Our first focus is to build a student's confidence. Once this is in place, they feel good and generally start to excel in the subject. Students attend class, once a week. They work in small groups with a tutor. Our tutor/student ratio is 1:6 maximum. Students therefore have the privilege of working on a 1-1 basis with the tutor on any difficult topics. It is a joy, every day, to see students benefit either from enrichment, consolidation or our remedial programme. It also gives me great pleasure to see my students thrive and enjoy learning through the range of activities that we offer.
