What makes our tuition services unique?

Our small group tuition with no more than six students is delivered by a team of qualified and experienced tutors, who are passionate about making the learning engaging. Through a combination of fun hands-on games and national curriculum focused activities, your child’s tutor will support and motivate them to practice skills needed to feel confident at their learning.

Furthermore, our tuition is designed to not only improve your child’s knowledge and understanding of a topic but also develop transferrable study skills, problem solving skills, thinking skills and social skills. As part of our tuition, we offer optional core work to be completed at home, which helps your child close any gaps in their learning and develop their fluency skills.

As all tuition takes place in face-to-face workshops, your child’s tutor will take the time to understand your child’s individual learning needs, meaning your child will leave feeling successful.

Meet the Team

Fay Morris is an experienced, qualified teacher, having taught in schools all around the country for the last eight years where she has been the English and maths lead. During maternity leave, she enjoyed being a private tutor and this is where she first found out about MagiKats. In 2017, Fay and her family chose to return to Cornwall, where she went back into full time teaching based in Year 6.

The role of a mentor is to guide and support the children in a relaxed and calm environment, allowing them to have a positive experience and reach their full potential.

All mentors working at MagiKats Newquay are suitably trained for the group of children they are working with and have an up to date DBS check.

The first step at MagiKats is to come to our centre to get a feel for the place and sit a placement. This helps us to establish at which stage your child should begin the MagiKats programme. This session takes approximately 45 minutes to 1 hour.
